After my Directing day and my 1st AD, my day as production design finally came by. It has gone fast but it has been good. I was a bit exhausted from 1st AD. It didn't go well that day but we move on.

Pre-Production

Pre-production for a production designer. You will be sent a script and your job needs to analyse, where the location and the props. Once I have read the script, I now have a vision for the setting and room. What I did is highlight down where it is based and what are the props.

Once I have done that, I would do a board putting in the pictures of the things I need and things I can add. Once I have that, I would talk to my director about the props and stuff that can be added as well as her vision of it. It was different from what I imagined but it worked really well.

I then started looking for stuff and ideas such as the Venus fly trapper( Credit to my tutor). Then came the day of my day as production designer...

Production
Came the day for my production designer. I had to stay until the evening to set up the flats. There weren't a lot to move which I really liked or too much to decorate. I also don't have to buy anything much although, I did encounter a bit of an issue. I ordered Venus fly traps but did not arrive on time which is kind of disappointing but I can live with it

I stayed for the other day to set the up which was just moving the flats around. Then I print stuff out and start putting in the props together. Then once I finished all that, that was it.

I was also script supervised the film. Making sure the continuity was good. It was a really calm day and i enjoyed my book and looking at the monitor for the day.

My next day is DOP...
