What a journey and another chapter of amazing and painful discoveries. My first directional commercial project. It was a stressful one but so much fun and everyone had a great time. It was definitely a challenge and I definitely found flaws and things to improve in me and how I run a set.

I Can('t) Do It Myself.

  • The hard bit was slowly coming to realise that it's hard to do all the things yourself. It's tough and honestly, a bit humiliating. I keep wanting to prove to myself that I am capable of doing it but at the end of the day, it's not. I keep on disappointing myself and quite frankly, my crew. It didn't feel like I was the director of the film or did my best, I didn't have a clear role because I was too busy juggling all 3 roles at the same time. Luckily, despite the help my DOP who was amazing, it felt un full filled. I could've done so much more I felt and more of a leader to all of them.

The Right people

  • I also felt like this shoot taught so much on finding the right people. I have always been someone who is always for it when it comes to giving people an opportunity. However, I felt so disappointed in some ways but I can't really say it. At the end of the day, I lie some levels of responsibility with this. You have to give the chance to the people who deserve it some ways. It sounds terrible but right now, this is where I stand and have realised.
