Living In London: Tips When You are Here
I get questions from my friends: State's it how's it's like living in London? It must be amazing. My answer to that is "Yes".
Living here in a town house; Listening to the sound of the rain; walking around the city centre; seeing the Christmas lights.
Life here is stressful. The majority of the time I'm in my room writing. That is all I do now. I hardly go out even though I should. And even when I do go out, I'm either going to a film festival or to school. That's the only reason I go out now.
Living here has given me so much freedom but also more responsibilities. My favourite time for going out around London is Christmas. I know it is going to be very busy but you just can't get away with from the vibe it brings.
Walking around London is where I also find ideas. I love it here. I haven't called it home, but it's somewhere I might.
Having the opportunity to live in a city like this is a dream. Sometimes walking around London makes me escape from reality. When I get back to my room I face reality. I have to work but I don't mind it. London makes everything magical. For students from abroad like me, this is heaven.
Although I don't go out much, I still love it when I walk to my school, gym or work. It has that vibe everyone would like walking somewhere.
I know there are dodgy areas and bad things that happen around London, but I still love it. Easy commutes( but expensive), diverse food and a lot of places to see.
I never get bored walking around London. I love my father. I appreciate the things I have and I get to live here because of him. Some how I am also able to convinced my mother with a career in the entertainment industry. One of the reasons is probably because of my father wants the best for me. With out him, I wouldn't be here.
Tips When In London
Here are some tips that I feel will be helpful for people who are travelling to London:
Check the forecast before you leave
A couple things I feel like I struggle or I find annoying is the weather. The weather is always changing and it is so annoying. So if you are coming to the UK, be prepared for the change of weather. It can be sunny then suddenly rainy. You will catch cold easier. Although I may sometimes find it annoying, I still love the vibe. It's something that gives you a better experience when travelling. Check the forecast before you live.
Check the trains
Train strikes. In the UK, there have a lot of strikes from the NHS or the trains strikes. The strikes usually happen because the staff don't get paid enough for the work they are doing. So another tip is to make sure you check before you travel. Because if suddenly there's a faulty on one of the rails, it will affect that line. So don't underestimate London and the commuting services. They are good and can take you every where, but they are a real hassle when they decide to strike.
Walk around the city
Another thing to do is to spend time walking around the city. There are so many beautiful things London has to offer. Live in the moment but also take pictures for the memories. I love taking photos, despite how bad they come out sometime. London has so many museums and activities to do. If you are coming during Christmas, go to a fair or see the lights around London. But it's going to be very busy.
