A film directed by Gene Stupnitsky, written by Gene Stupnitsky and John Phillips. The film tells the story of Maddie who is portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence is close to losing her childhood home. Her car was taken for not paying tax. She finds an advertisement of a car for sale but there is a condition. She would need to get a 19 year old, Percy who is portrayed by Andrew Barth Feldman.

I found it to be a very funny as well as a sad story. Situations in the film could really show the reality of peoples attachment to objects and the living crisis some people go through resulting them working two jobs to support themselves. Percy is a smart kid who has been bullied causing him to hide away. The story line of these two characters are very touching and relatable for some people to experience. What shocked me was the nudity from the beach scene. Although that scene showed so much, I am glad they did not take advantage of nudity to bring in the audience and focus more on the story line and performance.

The dialogues brings the sense of humour. The performance by Jennifer Lawrence give the intense cut with the humour and I really enjoyed watching her performance. The chemistry as well as the line delivery from the actors were fun to watch. Watching her performance in this film makes me want to see more of her work. I first saw Andrew Barth Feldman on High school Musical the musical the series Season 2 playing the French kid. He did not shine for me but now I have grown a liking towards him as an actor and look forward to seeing him in other projects. Camera angles bought out the emotion and it was simple with nothing too crazy to show off. I enjoyed it and none of the scenes really bothered me with how it is set up.

Overall, I enjoyed it and is a comfort film that I would come and watch when I need a good laugh. Being able to watch a film and feel great with the dialogue, the story and the performance makes me so happy seeing there are some productions that bring out the best and the beauty of filmmaking.
