Movie Review: Black Beauty (1971)

A beautiful film following the life of a horse called Black Beauty. A film adapted by the novel Anna Sewell. Directed by James Hill, written by Wolf Mankowitz. Starring Ott as Black Beauty.

The film covered the animal treatment, especially to horses extremely well. It's also pretty disturbing thinking this film was based in the 1800s and still there are many issues that are still going on around. It's heart breaking. Theses issues have been going on for decades and centuries and still people think that they can treat horses like so.

Thought that it showed an interesting perspective and how the film was shot when there were dangerous stunts involved. however, I do question the big stunt in the war scene with bombs. makes me question were there any safety regulations for the horses on set? Since the AHS ( Animal Humane Society) was invented in the 1980s after an incident of a horse falling off the cliff.

But overall the pacing of the film was smooth and remained interesting throughout. A classic that I love from my childhood and till this day, I still am.
