A film following the life of one of the greatest music conductors, Leonard Bernstein portrayed by Bradley Cooper. Directed by Bradley Cooper. Written by
Bradley Cooper
and Josh Singer. Starring Carey Mulligan as Felicia Montealegre, Bradley Cooper as Leonard Bernstein, Matt Bomer as David Oppenheim, Vincenzo Amato as Bruno Zirato, Maya Hawke as Jamie Bernstein .

Filming wise, I thought there were some beautiful scenes and scenes where I was questioning it. The scene where he was putting on his tie, they go out and put it on. There was no intention of putting a tie on outside apart from what a nice view outside was. There were shots like this that I was a bit confused by. In terms of shot decisions I though it was really well done with the mix of film ratios as well as the colour of the film.

The film was beautifully shot and done. I also, felt there were scenes where he was trying to be different. I though there would've been better ways of shooting some of the scenes.

The focus of the story was focused a lot on the love life but what I really wanted to see more was his love and passion for music. I felt they could've shown him and his music as well as having his wife as someone who supported through his career. I would've wanted to see him make doing the music for West Side Story and the process of it.

The acting itself, I wasn't a fan of it. From Cooper I felt like he was forcing it. Mulligan was amazing and I loved performance through the film. It was truthful. The sound he uses to portray Bernstein felt very annoying and felt like he had a cold all the time.

Overall it is film that has flaws but also sides of it that I really enjoy watching and seeing the filmmaking developing. I also think Cooper has an eye for directing. His vision for scenes and shots were amazing.
