Movie Review: The Flash(2023)
DC has released a new superhero film, The Flash(2023) which has had people praising . It has bought itself in to the eyes of the super hero films. The Flash, a DC movie telling the story of Barry Allen aka The flash portrayed by Ezra Miller going back in time to save his mother but then encounters consequences of changing the timeline. He encounters General Zod portrayed by Michael Shannon.
A DC film directed by Andy Muschietti know for his work It (2017) and It: Chapter Two (2019). Written by Christina Hodson know for her writing in Birds of Prey (2020), and Joby Harold know for his work Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022). Starring Ezra Miller as Barry Allen aka The Flash, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne aka Batman, Sasha Calle as Super girl and Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne aka Batman.
The movie made me want to watch the other DC films. It has the sense of humour, it showed the emotional connection Barry had with his mother, the struggle Barry goes though in his daily life. You can see in the café scene that he is so used to travelling every where fast, he can't bare with the reality of the normal speed people move around or do things in a day.
With the movie carrying emotion and humour, the performance really bought out the raw emotion when Barry meets his 18 year old self and his mother. It made me tear up in those scenes. The camera movement as well as the use of slow motion were one of my favourite parts from the film. The script itself was fun and engaging to watch and easy to understand.
Overall, my favourite part of the movie is the performance. Seeing the same character in different years and seeing the What If his mother didn't die how will Barry act. We can see the maturity in the older Barry and seen how far he has come and how he has to accept that he can't change events. What I recommend is to continue to produce high quality movies and plots like The Flash.
