Movie Review: Wonka(2023)

A fun and relaxing film, Wonka, a 2023 film showing the life of Wonka, a young man who has big ambitions to become one of the greatest chocolate makers in town. Through his kindest, he finds the true reason of making chocolate. With his dreams and spending his years to find the best ingredients to make chocolate. A film produced by the producers of Harry Potter and Paddington. Both films which have bought magic to the screen and to the movie lovers. A film directed by Paul King Written by Paul King and Simon Farnaby . Characters created by Roald Dahl. and Starring Timothée Chalamet as Wonka, Jim Carter, Rich Fulcher, Rakhee Thakrar, Rowan Atkinson, Tom Davis, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Keegan-Michael Key, Rakhee Thakrar, Natasha Rothwell and Calah Lane

Wonka is a musical which not only bought the magic of a young man having big dreams, for me a lot of aspects reminded me of Harry Potter and Paddington. I will however, found it very entertaining and engaging to watch. They also show the corruption of contracts which is happening all the time based on experiences some musicians have had in the real world. For me, Wonka is a good example of stealing like an artist. There are so many scenes where it remined me of movies but it didn't bother me. I love watching ideas in a different version. the film was unique which is also one of the reasons why I really enjoyed it. It was different. Wonka is a very ambitious, kind and loving man who the film showed greatly. The corruption in the film also represent real life but in a very comedic way.

The acting itself was okay. I would say there were some scenes by Timotheé Chalemet that were a bit cringy and weird. Don't get me wrong, I am not a good actor but as an audience it makes me question why does he do that. Maybe it's also to show Wonka's craziness and dreams for chocolate.

There was a lot of doubt on this production but I think it really beat the critics with the joy and fun it bought to the screen. It is also pretty smart to be releasing the film around the Christmas for me.

The story line was also very well developed giving the audience a roller coaster to go on. For me it is a well structed story with all characters having clear intentions of wanting to something in the situations they are in.

Since I went to film school I have been noticing the colours of the set and the costume and it really bought more emotion to the scene once you know what's the meaning of the colour.

Overall, I loved the movie. It is suitable for people who are just looking for a fun and relaxing film to watch and for a family to spend time together. The film is filled me magic and t0 tell me to never let anyone push you down.
