The Director Of The Musical

The most exhausting, heart breaking, fun and memorable experienced. The musical, my first musical as the director. The experience was fun but also– stressful and heart breaking. It taught me a lot about myself and my struggles as a director. I didn't like the feeling sometimes, it was really uncomfortable. It sound glamourous but it's so frustrating in moments.

1.Everything can go wrong and you won't get used to the feeling

I knew this from my previous time directing. Things are going to go wrong, they'll be disappointment. I know I will never get used to this feeling because pain isn't something to get used to, it's something you get used to living with. I see that and I respect it.

2.Never make things complicated

I wasn't very good at talking to my actors. I had to explain myself multiple times and was getting them confused. I wasn't doing my best that day. I struggle a bit which frustrates me. I shouldn't be making it complicated. I learnt that simplicity is key and the power of communication is valuable and I need to learn how to do properly.

3.Don't be hard myself

I was so hard on myself I went in to a very dark and tough time during that period. I am still getting back to my usual self however, it takes time and I am now healing my body and mind. Don't be too hard yourself. Do what you can and accept the things that can't be done now.
